LONDON (Reuters) – A Kurdish woman was brutally raped, stamped on and strangled by members of her family and their friends in an "honor killing" carried out at her London home because she had fallen in love with the wrong man. Banaz Mahmod, 20, was subjected to the 2-1/2 hour ordeal before she was garroted with a bootlace. Her body was stuffed into a suitcase and taken about 100 miles to Birmingham where it was buried in the back garden of a house. Full story

What a kind and loving family. I’ll bet the British are proud that they’ve allowed these types of people to immigrate to their country. You know, get a little third-world-middle-age-barbarism into the culture. Multi-culturalism is such a good thing! We have to make sure to respect all cultures and views because you know, all cultures are valid and have worth. Yes even the ones that murder their own kin. (Kind of quaint ain’t it?) I’m sure that god is proud of them, and yes I know Islam is a religion of peace because that’s what the media tell me. Allah Akbar!
I really hope that we stop this nonsense about "securing the border." It’s plain that we need to allow everyone into our country so we can all enjoy the wonders of multi-culturalism. Heck, who doesn’t enjoy a little honor killing now and then? Especially when the bitch was just asking for it anyway!
It’s times like these that make me want to travel to Afghanistan, India, or maybe Pakistan. Shoot, maybe I’ll go to Somalia too. I hear they’re none too shy about killing and raping the ladies.
Imagine the gall! Actually looking at a man! Sometimes I hear the girls over there even try to get an education. The nerve of those chicks! They deserve to be punished! Men need to feel powerful in spite of their tiny pee-pees! That’s the way god wants it after all. Allah Akbar! And while they’re at it, they should keep slicing off the little girl’s clits with razor blades. We all know god wants it that way. Allah Akbar!
In the recordings, transcripts of which were relayed to the court, Hama and his friend are hearing laughing as he described how she was killed with Banaz’s uncle "supervising".
"I was kicking and stamping on her neck to get the soul out. I saw her stark naked, only wearing pants or underwear," Hama is recorded as saying.
Oh, those wacky foreigners! Allah Akbar, ya’ll.

Damn… Sick, evil, and insane. Religious fundamentalism of the worst kind. Just goes to show you that insanity can, indeed, be taught. Just wire, or rewire the brain to think after any fashion which is irrational/immoral, and you can produce people who are functionally sane. Why, if it weren’t for the “God Hates Queers” sandwich board sign and the dynamite strapped to the guy’s back you’d think he was a perfectly normal person.

I don’t normally “sandbag” comments, B, but this AM I ran across what I think is a relevant quotation from an anti-fundamentalist. His rather “avant-garde” views on empty religion and wacko fundamentalism, ironically, cost him his life. Anyway, he was addressing a group of his followers when he said the following, “…the time is coming [when] whoever kills you will think that he offers God a service…” Poignant words spoken some 2000 years ago, but no less relevant today.

I honestly don’t know if this is a “muslim thang” or just an insane third-world tradition. I know they do it in India and in parts of Africa too, in addition to the muslim countries. I believe it was also done in some Polynesian cultures too. Heck for all I know it was common in a lot of cultures.
Whatever the “reasoning” is, it all comes down to men controlling women by fear.
It’s sick for us to look at now, but our western culture is not too far removed from doing the same things to indians, blacks, and whoever else we thought were “below” us. A tragedy of humanity.
