Reflecting on my economic collapse post from last year
* Comments(2)

Damn, I wish I didn’t end up being right about this…

On August 15 2007 I wrote this post about the impending economic collapse and how the prez was lying and saying that the economy was fine. Well, I’ll be damned if it all didn’t come true.

In paragraph 5 I said "God I hope we don’t have another savings and loan collapse/bailout type debacle." Well I guess that one came true too. Shit!

The election is less than a month away and I am shocked and saddened to hear some people blaming this whole thing on "liberals" and "too much regulation". These people obviously don’t have a clue what they’re talking about and are only parroting what they’ve heard from rush limbaugh and sean hannity. People are sheep.

John McCain is out on the campaign trail talking about more tax cuts for big corporations, even though [through specially written tax loopholes] the vast majority of large US corporations don’t pay any tax anyway.

Anyway…I don’t have the stomach right now to write another post about how bad the republicans have fucked up this country. Bottom line: Trickle-down economics has never worked and will never work for 99% of Americans. The only ones who benefit are the top 1% and fortune 500 corporations. The rest of us are screwed.

Wake up people. The US can’t afford another 4/8 years of trickle-down, tax cuts for the wealthy and unregulated corporate greed. We can’t afford to elect John McCain. We can’t afford someone who keeps his heads in the sand, hasn’t learned from history, and continues to worship the fallen idols of deregulation, greed-is-good, and other outdated and dangerous modes of thinking. Let’s not cut our own throats again…

    Alas obamessiah and the dirty dems are up to their necks in this current disaster too!

    We need a complete restructuring of our political economy!

    Click that link to see what need be done, and how both the dems and repubs are against it!

    This election is too important to vote for the lesser of two evils AGAIN!

    The scientifically impossible I do right away
    The spiritually miraculous takes a bit longer
